Important Information

Dear Families,

Thank you to all who attended parent-teacher conferences! We truly appreciate your partnership and continued support in your child’s education.

Our student clubs are now underway, and our Student Council is hosting a Food Drive to support local families through Redeemer’s Little Food Pantry. Please see the flyer below for details on how you can help.

We’re also excited to share information about our upcoming Trunk or Treat event! To ensure we have enough treats for everyone, please sign up if you plan to attend. Families interested in decorating a trunk or donating candy for our “Candy Monster” can complete the appropriate form linked below. The PTO is also looking for a DJ to help make the event extra fun!

Finally, if you receive an email from the Raptor System, it means your background check will expire within 30 days. Please follow the instructions in the message to renew your clearance and remain active in the system.

Thank you for your continued involvement and support of our school community!

Classroom Party Guidelines

D146 Elementary buildings have three (3) classroom parties throughout the school year. October, December, and February.

We encourage celebrating with non-food novelty items like stickers, pencils, games and crafts however food is welcome during these 3 celebrations, only.

Classroom teachers and/or the PTA coordinate food donations. If you participate, all food must be pre-packaged and labeled by a manufacturer. No later than 1 week prior to the event, teachers will approve food submissions. Parents or guardians of students with documented medical food allergies are asked to collaborate with classroom teachers to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of their child.

Items strictly prohibited:
· Peanuts, tree nuts and all their derivatives

Bus Students

To ensure that all students have a safe and positive experience on the bus, we are reinforcing our bus riding expectations. Students are expected to:
  • Sit in their assigned seats at all times.
  • Follow the bus driver’s directions promptly and respectfully.
  • Remain seated while the bus is moving.
  • Keep all parts of their body inside the bus.
  • Refrain from littering or leaving belongings behind.
  • Use quiet, respectful voices (no screaming or yelling).
We appreciate your support in reminding your child of these expectations so that everyone can travel to and from school safely.

Arrival and Dismissal

Walkers/Bussers: Please enter through the main entrance door #1. Car Riders: Enter the parking lot moving east on Victoria. There is no left turn into the parking lot while moving west on Victoria during arrival/dismissal. THERE IS NO PARKING ON VICTORIA DRIVE DURING ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL. Drivers may ONLY make a right turn when exiting the parking lot. See the included map for more details.

Car riders are dropped off at the car circle line and enter via Door #8. Door #8 will close promptly at 8:50am. Car riders arriving after 8:50am must be dropped off at the main entrance.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade walkers will dismiss via the east doors. Kindergarten students will dismiss via their classroom doors on the south side of the building. Car riders will enter vehicles at the car circle line for dismissal.

School Safety

School Safety Drills

During the first weeks of school, we practice many safety drills including evacuation drills, tornado drills, and a lockdown drill with the police department as required by Illinois School Code. These drills are crucial to ensure our students and staff follow safety procedures efficiently.

Lockdown drills with students will be communicated with you before each drill via parent square. This will ensure you are aware of our procedures, the language used, and the time they'll be conducted. Our first Lockdown drill will be on Monday, October 6th
